The National Museum of Science and Technology "Leonardo da Vinci" is based in Milan; opened in 1953, with a total of 50,000m² it is the the largest technical-scientific museum in Italy and one of the largest in EuropeIt has the largest collection in the world of models of machines made from drawings by Leonardo da Vinci. Il Castello Sforzesco

The Sforzesco Castle is one of the main symbols of Milan and its history. It was built in the fifteenth century by Francesco Sforza, recently Duke of Milanon the remains of a previous fortification dating back to the fourteenth century known as Castrum Porte Jovis (Castle of Porta Giovia or Zobia), and over the centuries has undergone significant transformations. Between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries it was one of the main military citadels in Europe; restored in historicist style by Luca Beltrami between 1890 and 1905, it is now home to important cultural institutions and tourist destinations. It is one of the largest castles in Europe.

Palazzo Reale Milano

The Royal Palace of Milan (formerly Palazzo del Broletto Vecchio) was for many centuries the seat of government of the city of Milan, the Kingdom of Lombardy-Veneto and then royal residence until 1919, when it is acquired by the State Property becoming a venue for exhibitions and exhibitions. Originally designed with a system of two courtyards, then partially demolished to leave space for the Duomo, the building is located to the right of the facade of the Duomo in an opposite position from the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Then you can walk along the medieval walls or dedicate yourself to the discovery of the most famous historical monuments. On the lakeside promenade the Tempio Voltiano tells the life and works of the scientist Alessandro Volta, inventor of the pile, while Villa Olmo is often home to prestigious art exhibitions. But you’ll probably be won over by nature and open spaces. From Piazza De Gasperi starts a funicular that will take you to a height of 700 m, up to Brunate, also called "Balcony of the Alps". Thanks to its many viewpoints, on clear days, the gaze can embrace the Alpine arc. For lovers of trekking there are paths suitable for every level of training, in the city and province: Green Way that crosses the villages of Colonno, Sala Comacina and Ossuccio in the center of the lake, is also suitable for beginners. The path of the four valleys50 km long between the Lario and the Ceresio, is recommended for the more trained. For those who want to venture for a couple of days of trekking not very challenging, the right itinerary is the Ridge of the Larian Triangle.
